We came to learn. There wasn't just one colony on this block, but five clusters of cats spread out across the business district. We've been working to complete the first colony by getting all the kittens and friendly strays into rescues and then sterilizing the adults and really seeing them if they are healthy. That this county doesn't have low-cost spay and neuter or TNR clinics and their humane society is at capacity so there's nowhere to take owner surrenders. Dagny was caught in a trap and we realized quick that he was sick and abscessed all around his head and neck. We also realized he was beyond friendly, just a complete sweet lover and was one of the many abandoned motel cats. Dyno mite was thrown from a car outside the motel. 6. About 7 months before we arrived and was being fed graciously by the guest. Thankfully he was neutered and he's super sweet so he just needed to get cleaned up and all those match shaved off and the goat heads removed and go through standard vaccines and quarantine..
